The Dartmouth Common Oven is a volunteer-run gathering place in Leighton Dillman Park, on the Dartmouth Common. We believe food brings people together — and this space is proof of that.

We exist to create an inviting public space for growing, cooking, gathering, and learning from each other.

Sustainability & Stewardship We manage the oven and garden with a long view, caring for this shared infrastructure so it can serve the community for years to come.
Belonging We host gatherings that are inclusive and accessible, and that foster a genuine sense of belonging — for newcomers, long-time residents, families, and everyone in between.
Education & Lifelong Learning We use the oven and garden to spark curiosity and create opportunities for neighbours to learn from each other.
Shared Responsibility We work with community members to build the collective capacity to support the oven and garden, and to bring new ideas for growing, cooking, and gathering to life.
